Flu Vaccines

Some practices and pharmacies offer adult flu vaccinations as soon as the vaccination is made available in September. However clinical evidence suggests that flu vaccine antibodies wane with time, so to optimise your antibodies response we follow the advice and guidance that says the vaccine should be given nearer to the actual "flu session", this will increase the vaccines effectiveness and offer maximum protection against the Flu virus when it really matters. Therefore, Kingswood Surgery will begin our Flu clinics on 3rd October. We have started sending out text message invitations for patients to book directly into these clinics. Please wait for your invitation, please do not call the practice until you have had your invitation, as this takes up call capacity making it more difficult for those patients with more pressing medical needs on the day to get through. Thanks for your support in this.

New online request system

We are excited to introduce a new system which allows patients who are able to make requests online rather than queue on the phone at busier times, allowing you to get on with your day and know that we are dealing with your request. You do not need a username or password to use the system and you can make both appointment requests and admin requests. If you would like some help the first time to use the system please don't hesitate to ring and a member of the reception team will assist you.

New triage system

From the 5th of August 2024 (05/08/2024) our surgery will be going live with our new online patient triage system. This system will function similarly to our e consult system and will allow you to submit medical and admin requests. We have put together this list of Frequently Asked Questions to help explain more about the system and some changes at the surgery.

New telephone system coming

We are excited to share that on the 3rd July a new phone system will be going live at the practice. When you call the surgery you will notice a couple of changes to our system which we hope will help navigate you to the correct place. The new system has a call back option if the lines are very busy, you will not lose your place in the queue we will simply ring you back when it is your turn if you choose this option. If you are contacting us for results this line will be open between 11am-17.00pm but remember you can access your results online through systmone or the NHS app at anytime day or night.

Winter Pressures

Using services wisely can help to reduce pressure on the NHS and may help patients to be treated sooner than attending local hospital emergency departments, allowing medical staff to focus on treating those people who need it most.
